The journey of second wind vocal band

From a heartfelt charity performance to a captivating reunion, Second Wind Vocal Band brings three voices together in perfect harmony. Discover our story, our passion for music, and the unique sound we've cultivated over decades. We're here to share our love for harmonies with you.

Our harmonious beginnings

Second Wind's roots trace back to three friends – two brothers, Damon and Steven Baker, and their best friend, Mel Henson – united by a shared love for harmonies. Our very first performance was for a local charity event in Houston, Texas, "Lean On Me," where we chose Bill Withers' classic "Lean On Me." That moment sparked the formation of "Houston City Limits," leading to performances at rodeos, private parties, county fairs, and charity events. Though life led to a 27-year separation, our passion for singing together never faded, bringing us back as Second Wind.

Our signature sound

While male trios aren't new, Second Wind Vocal Band offers a distinct spin on classics and oldies. We specialize in close, tight family harmonies that truly captivate. We often re-imagine cover songs, injecting new life with full, rich harmonies from start to finish, making each rendition uniquely ours. Our diverse repertoire spans Classic Country, New Country, 70's & 80's Pop, Southern Rock, and Gospel, ensuring we always have something to resonate with every crowd.

More than just music

What we love most is creating big harmonies that give our audience goosebumps, breathing new life into beloved favorites. Our performances are more than just songs; they're filled with laughter, humorous stories from our time on stage, and engaging banter that draws everyone in. We thrive on audience requests, even spontaneously harmonizing on songs we've never performed before. After 27 years, we're full speed ahead, eager to share our joy and passion with new friends and fans.

"Second Wind Vocal Band's harmonies are simply breathtaking! They brought so much joy and energy to our event, making it truly unforgettable. Their ability to sing so many genres is amazing."
